On Thursday 7^th December our Athletes from Moate community school competed on the Connaught Schools Winter Indoor Championships. Students competed in a range of track and field events including, shot putt, long jump, high jump, and sprints. Congratulations to all students who took part, we had great success throughout the day.

Our 2^nd year student put in a great performance on the day. Luke Tooher had a phenomenal performance placing 4^th overall in the 600m race in a time of 1.41 and 4^th in the shot putt throwing 9m33. Billy Stenson placed 5^th overall in the long jump jumping an astounding 4m22. Our 2^nd year boys relay team consisting of Tom Madden, Matthew Marsh, Billy Stenson and Luke Tooher placed 3^rd overall finishing in 1.56.96. James Seery placed 3^rd overall in the High Jump, jumping 1m25! Asil Skaik placed 4^th overall in the 2^nd year girls shot, throwing an amazing 6m50. Laura Fox had a great performance in the 600m placing 5^th in a time of 1.54.57.

Ali Duffy in 1^st year showed great speed and endurance in the 600m race placing 1^st overall and finishing in a time of 1.45.81.

In transition year, Lucy Champ placed 1^st in the 60m sprint in a blistering time of 8.31 and Katy Doolan placing 4^th in 9.17. Isabelle Madden placed 2^nd in the 600m race with a time of 1.53.06. Faye Hanley placed 2^nd in the long jump with a result of 3m71. Our transition year girls relay team consisting of Lucy Champ, Isabelle Madden, Katy Doolan and Cara Stenson, crossed the finish line 1^st in a time of 2.00.12.

Well done to all students who participated on the day, you did so well!
