On Thursday 7th December our Athletes from Moate community school competed on the Connaught Schools Winter Indoor Championships. Students competed in a range of track and field events including, shot putt, long jump, high jump, and sprints. Congratulations to all students who took part, we had great success throughout the day.

Our 2nd year student put in a great performance on the day. Luke Tooher had a phenomenal performance placing 4th overall in the 600m race in a time of 1.41 and 4th in the shot putt throwing 9m33. Billy Stenson placed 5th overall in the long jump jumping an astounding 4m22. Our 2nd year boys relay team consisting of Tom Madden, Matthew Marsh, Billy Stenson and Luke Tooher placed 3rd overall finishing in 1.56.96. James Seery placed 3rd overall in the High Jump, jumping 1m25! Asil Skaik placed 4th overall in the 2nd year girls shot, throwing an amazing 6m50. Laura Fox had a great performance in the 600m placing 5th in a time of 1.54.57.

Ali Duffy in 1st year showed great speed and endurance in the 600m race placing 1st overall and finishing in a time of 1.45.81.

In transition year, Lucy Champ placed 1st in the 60m sprint in a blistering time of 8.31 and Katy Doolan placing 4th in 9.17. Isabelle Madden placed 2nd in the 600m race with a time of 1.53.06. Faye Hanley placed 2nd in the long jump with a result of 3m71. Our transition year girls relay team consisting of Lucy Champ, Isabelle Madden, Katy Doolan and Cara Stenson, crossed the finish line 1st in a time of 2.00.12.
