A bit of history was created in Moate Community School, on Monday 7th November, with the first competitive girls school soccer match being played. This was the first round of the Leinster section of the All Ireland Cup competition.
The first year girls team got women’s soccer off to a wonderful start, in the school, with a 7-1 victory over Moyne CS. The scorers were Leah Concannon with 3, Chloe Malone with 2, Heidi Murray with 1 and Niamh Noone with 1. Well done on a fantastic performance and result from the team.
Coaches involved are Claire Bracken, Sean Burns, Jimmy Dungan, Niamh Allen, Caroline Connell, Stephen Traynor, Pádraig Nicholson and Anthony Allen.
