Moate CS student Aine Shortall makes her mark!!!!

Earlier this year Aine Shortall, a 3rd year student in Moate CS, started out following the Spring Tour League which has taken her the length and breath of the country.

Aine had great success and won one leg of the league which took place at The Meadows equestrian Centre, Lurgan, Co Armagh on the 19th March with her Pony Clinton Class.

She also secured several other placings on the tour with Clinton Class and her second pony Bungi. She finished 4th in the final leg of the tour which was held in Banner Equestrian Centre, Ennis, Co. Clare.

As a result of Aine’s impressive performances over the Tour, Aine was selected to compete for Ireland in Fountainbleau, France. However, she decided not to go to France as it coincided with her practical Home Economics Junior Cert Exam.

Aine’s latest success came last weekend, this time with her pony Bungi where she WON the RDS qualifier. This was the first of 4 qualifiers and the top 6 placings from each qualifier will compete at Royal Dublin Horse Show which will be held this year from the 17th to the 21st August. Showjumping is a huge commitment for Aine and it is the good results that make it all so worthwhile. Aine’s continued success is testament to her huge commitment to and love for the sport. It is a great honour and a huge achievement to qualify. Everyone in Moate CS would like to wish Aine the very best of luck for her events over the summer and in the future.
