Under 15 Girls Leinster League Group Stage – Moate Community School vs Wilsons Hospital Mullingar
This fixture, which took place in Moate Community School on Thursday 26th January, between Moate Community School and Wilsons Hospital School Mullingar was Moate’s third game in the group stages of the Under 15s Leinster League. This win brings them to two wins and a draw in the group so far and places them top.
The first half Moate girls got off to a great start with super build up play leading to the first chance of the game from Chloe Malone who was unlucky not to score. The Moate girls never dropped the tempo which led to the first goal of the game with a super finish from Leah Concannon in the 10th minute of the game. This great play from the girls continued which led to an immediate second goal from Leah with a defence splitting pass from Karrissa Burns.
With great defensive work from the Moate girls they burst into a counter attacking play which led to Leah’s 3rd goal of the game with a well placed shot into the bottom right corner. With play overturned shortly after Leah’s hat trick Wilson’s had a run straight through on goal which was greatly defended by Aine bracken who held off the number 9.
The second half had begun and the Moate girls kept on top of Wilson’s keeping possession for the majority of the half. Once again in the 10th minute of the second half, Leah Concannon found a pocket in the defence and scored her 4th. Hannah Moran rounded off the scoring for Moate with a fantastic finish from within the box which put the game to bed.
Although Moate girls were on top, Wilson’s managed to score a goal shortly after in the 11th minute. The rest of the half the girls kept possession well not letting anything through and made a couple of more chances on goal. The game finished 5-1.
