16 students from Moate CS who qualified for the Connaght track and field final, travelled to TUS Athlone on the 16th of May. Our athletes showed outstanding performances throughout the day. Early on in the day Tristan Dolan placed 2nd in the hammer throw competition, qualifying for the All Ireland Finals in June. Lucy Champ took silver in the 200m sprint in just over 26 seconds. She also secured a place in the All Ireland Finals. Jack McGuinness who has shown outstanding performances this year in athletics has qualified for a second All Ireland in the 1500m race. Our day ended on a high with our intermediate boy’s relay team taking home gold and securing a place in the All-Ireland. A team comprising of four talented athletes includes John McDermott, Evan Daly, Anthony King Carroll and Tristan Dolan.

Well done to all our Athletes who participated on the day and best of luck to Lucy, Jack, Tristan and our intermediate boy’s relay team in the All Ireland Finals in June.
