The All Ireland Scholarship was awarded to former MCS student Julia Krol on Saturday March 30th, 2024 at the University of Limerick.  The awards were presented to recipients by J. P. McManus and Niall Collins TD in recognition of academic excellence in the Leaving Certificate exams. This scholarship programme was established in 2008 to financially support many gifted young students across the island of Ireland. 125 All Ireland Scholarships from the 32 counties are awarded each year.

The ceremony’s guest of honour was Mr. Michael Dowling a native of Limerick and President and CEO of Northwell Health, the large health provider in New York State where the company employs 85,000 people. He spoke passionately to the students about his experiences of the working world, the importance of hard work, setting and committing to goals and of the prudence of building strong relationships in the work place.

Julia is studying International Business and Spanish at Maynooth University where she was also awarded an Entrance Scholarship earlier in the school year again, acknowledging her work ethic and high achievement (625 points) in the Leaving Certificate exams. We wish her  every success and happiness in her future.
