Our first-year boys Gaelic football team have been training hard over the past number of months, with players representing Caulry, Cillóige, Millmore Gaels, Maryland/Tang, Maynooth, Moate all whites, St Loman’s, and St Manchen’s.  They participated in a Westmeath coaching and games blitz before Christmas which was very beneficial and gave all players game time.

After Christmas the Br Hubert Cup competition kicked off for all A schools in Leinster. Moate CS were in Group two with Marist Athlone, St Mary’s of Edenderry and St Mel’s of Longford.

We hosted the Marist first on January 16th. MCS won comfortably on a scoreline of 3-07 to 1-02.

We travelled to Carberry in Kildare on January 24th to play St Mary’s of Edenderry where we carried our good form into the game and emerged victorious on a score line of 5-06 to 1-04.

Our final group game was on January 31st and we hosted St Mel’s on our school pitch. MCS were dominant on the day and won with a score line of 5-13 to 2-04.

We qualify for a home quarter final, which will be played after midterm. Opposition still to be confirmed.
