On Thursday 7th<\/sup> December our Athletes from Moate community school competed on the Connaught Schools Winter Indoor Championships. Students competed in a range of track and field events including, shot putt, long jump, high jump, and sprints. Congratulations to all students who took part, we had great success throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Our 2nd<\/sup> year student put in a great performance on the day. Luke Tooher had a phenomenal performance placing 4th<\/sup> overall in the 600m race in a time of 1.41 and 4th<\/sup> in the shot putt throwing 9m33. Billy Stenson placed 5th<\/sup> overall in the long jump jumping an astounding 4m22. Our 2nd <\/sup>year boys relay team consisting of Tom Madden, Matthew Marsh, Billy Stenson and Luke Tooher placed 3rd<\/sup> overall finishing in 1.56.96. James Seery placed 3rd<\/sup> overall in the High Jump, jumping 1m25! Asil Skaik placed 4th<\/sup> overall in the 2nd<\/sup> year girls shot, throwing an amazing 6m50. Laura Fox had a great performance in the 600m placing 5th<\/sup> in a time of 1.54.57.<\/p>\n

Ali Duffy in 1st<\/sup> year showed great speed and endurance in the 600m race placing 1st<\/sup> overall and finishing in a time of 1.45.81.<\/p>\n

In transition year, Lucy Champ placed 1st<\/sup> in the 60m sprint in a blistering time of 8.31 and Katy Doolan placing 4th<\/sup> in 9.17. Isabelle Madden placed 2nd<\/sup> in the 600m race with a time of 1.53.06. Faye Hanley placed 2nd<\/sup> in the long jump with a result of 3m71. Our transition year girls relay team consisting of Lucy Champ, Isabelle Madden, Katy Doolan and Cara Stenson, crossed the finish line 1st<\/sup> in a time of 2.00.12.<\/p>\n

Well done to all students who participated on the day, you did so well!<\/p>\n
