Moate CS had a great start to Athletics this year with 33 students competing in the Westmeath Cross Country School Championships in Belvedere, Mullingar. Moate CS had a hugely successful day taking home 13 medals overall.

In the first-year race Libby Mc Hugh placed within the top 10 winning a medal and Billy Stenson placed 2nd taking home a well-earned silver. Our second-year girls and boys did extremely well, in the girls race. Karissa Burns, Aine Bracken and Lena Zydek who placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively along with Neasa Trainor, Maire Croinin and Aoife Ross all placing in the top 10 bringing home 6 medals in their category. The 2nd year boys Anthony King Carroll, Eoin Conlon, John McDermott and Jack Whyte placed in the top 10 bringing home a further 4 medals.  Cormac Murphy in transition year ran a strong race in a field of Transition year, 5th and 6th Year student and came home 2nd in his category.
