Moate Community School Student receives Quercus Entrance Scholarship at UCC

Kirsty Lohan, a graduate of the Leaving Certificate Class of 2021 was awarded an entrance scholarship at UCC in recognition of her academic achievements. She is currently studying Speech and Language Therapy and her teachers at Moate CS wish her and indeed all of her former classmates much success and happiness in their lives and education.

A total of 239 students received awards in a virtual ceremony presented by Dr. Jennifer Murphy, Director of Recruitment and Admissions and President of UCC, Professor John O’ Halloran. Students at UCC are encouraged to develop life-long skills and life wide skills (citizenship) while working towards third level qualifications.

The awards presented are as follows: 225 Quercus Scholarships for academic excellence, 11 B. Ed. Gaeilge awards sponsored by Údarás na Gaeltachta, 5 Mary Ryan Language Awards, 3 Keliher Awards and 2 Kavanagh Celtic Civilization Awards. There were also presentations made to recipients of the Naughton Foundation Scholarships, Intel Women in Stem and Agricultural Science bursaries sponsored by Dairygold.
