MCS Students Recipients of Third Level Entry Awards

Last week two of our former students Conor McKnight and Caoimhe McDonnell were recipients of entrance awards at TUS, Athlone. Conor is studying Sports Science with Exercise Physiology and Caoimhe is doing General Nursing. TUS Scholarships of Excellence are conferred upon first-year students who have distinguished themselves academically at second level, achieving more than 500 points in their Leaving Certificate exams. Scholarship of Excellence recipients receive a bursary of €500 and a full gym membership, giving them access to the university’s state-of-the-art facilities for an academic year; recipients also receive a memento made from locally sourced crystal and a commemorative plaque for their school.

On Tuesday last April 5th five of our graduates received Entrance Awards at UCD. Entrance Scholar awards are presented to first year students who achieve 560 points or more in their Leaving Certificate in recognition of their academic accomplishment to date. Recipients are presented with a recognition certificate and their achievements are recorded on their final academic transcript. Our students, Aoife Dalton and Charlemae Flores are studying Radiography, Ruth Martin, Veterinary Medicine and Erin Pettit, Nutrition. Jonny Horan is studying Chemical Science. He also received a Choral Scholarship earlier in the year. Jonny was a valued member of the school choirs during his time at Moate Community School. In fact, he is the third recipient of the Choral Scholarship in the last two years following in the footsteps of Colm Shortall and Oisin Johnston. Congratulations to all of our students and continued success in your studies
