5th Year visit out to Arrabawn

On the 21st of November 5th Year LCVP students travelled to Arrabawn Dairies in Kilconnell just outside Ballinasloe to complete part of their Leaving Certificate course. Arrabawn met with two groups on the day, one in a morning session and one in an afternoon session. The talented staff of Arrabawn were very informative and gave the group a thorough overview of how a successful business operates and functions.

The group of students were split into two, one group were given an overview of the enterprise while the other group were given a tour of the factory after which the groups alternated. The tour was very thorough showing the group how milk gets from the farm to the carton. The students got to experience first-hand how the milk arrives from the farm, goes through the plant, is cartooned, dated and stored before it is shipped freshly to the retailers.

The presentation was very informative giving student’s information on the history of Arrabawn and its future plans.

The group thoroughly enjoyed the visit and would recommend it to future LCVP students.
