Moate CS Centre of Excellence Opens

Moate Community School are delighted to launch the Moate Community School Centre of Excellence, following the recent completion of a brand-new full-size soccer pitch with LED floodlights and spectator area. The sports surface is the latest in Astro turf technology & surpasses anything in the area in terms of quality of surface. The pitch itself will be FIFA approved to facilitate teams interested in playing matches on this magnificent surface. This is along with the existing facilities of 2 small astro floodlit soccer pitches, 2 floodlit tennis courts, a full size floodlit GAA pitch and a recently refurbished carpark to hold over 100 cars. All these facilities are adjacent to the Greenway track from Mullingar to Athlone, and Moate Golf club. The school already have a set of 30 bikes on hand for the students to avail of to use the Greenway. At the recent launch we had Kieran Donaghy, former GAA footballer of the year and an employee of PST sports, who did a fantastic job in completing the new pitch. This ensures the students of Moate Community school will have unparalleled sports facilities and will no doubt encourage students to keep fit and active.
