Moate CS Awarded the Amber Mental Health Flag

We’re delighted that our school was successful in procuring the Amber Flag from Pieta House for promoting positive mental health for our students. Moate CS was awarded this Amber Flag for their work in the following areas: all students from 1st to 3rd year took part in a resilience program entitled “My Friends Youth”; hosting an array of activities during ‘Wellbeing Week’ in our school such as healthy eating initiatives, yoga & mindfulness, Greenway walks during tutor class and morning exercise classes; inviting in speakers on this topic such as Senator and Pieta House founder Joan Freeman, Aware and The Samaritans; fundraising for Pieta House and the Samaritans by hosting a non-uniform day and a Bake Sale; creating a Mental Health notice board for students; TY students giving talks to all first year students on the importance of minding their mental health and finally organising a poster competition for first years on this theme. Thank you to all involved: the class of TY3 and the teachers on the Wellbeing team.
